Easygoing and stylish essential basics for every wardrobe — clothing that will last, be worn most days and is worth mending rather than replacing. At Ondine Ash, our curated shop on the Old High Street in Falmouth, Cornwall, our clothing edit is built almost entirely around Le Bon Shoppe and Pico: two brands whose approach to slow, sustainable fashion aligns with everything else we sell, and whose pieces work together as a complete, considered wardrobe rather than a collection of disconnected trends.

Le Bon Shoppe is a fashion brand based in LA who negate pre-consumer waste by producing small quantities to order, eschewing the typical fashion cycle of drops and seasons in favour of pieces you want to reach for every day. Their Arc Pants — in milk, denim, black denim, black canvas and azure canvas, with their distinctive high-waisted balloon silhouette — are our most-worn Le Bon Shoppe pieces, the kind of relaxed, well-cut trouser that works with everything from a simple tee to a tucked-in knitwear layer. City Shorts in natural ecru and stripe cover the warmer months in the same unhurried spirit. For tops, the Foundation Long Sleeve Tee in mushroom and black, the Naturelle Tee in midnight and mushroom, the boxy Little Boy Tee in rose tea, the fine-knit Jeanne Tee in dusty lilac and slate grey, the slightly oversized Jayden Tee in dark slate, and the striped Sailor Top in pine green, coffee and navy bring a considered range of organic cotton and linen tops for layering and everyday wear. The Ayle Mohair Cardigan in grey and onyx and the Elio Alpaca Cardigan in navy make the strongest case for a capsule knitwear wardrobe built to last a decade rather than a season.

Pico’s Fairtrade certified organic cotton underwear — high waist and low rise knickers, crop tops and vests in ecru and charcoal — rounds out the everyday basics, sized for everyone and worn across genders. A DARN Collective cotton scarf in cornflower blue and coral completes the accessories edit.
