From her studio in Chiddingford, Surrey, Annabel produces the most gentle but striking pots. Charmingly painterly and loose, but built for everyday use.
Every piece in this collection is handmade pottery by ceramicist Annabel Roberts, working from her studio on a farm just outside Chiddingfold, Surrey. She's a genuinely accomplished artisan maker — her work is stocked by TOAST, and she regularly shows at Potfest events, the Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey and Art and Clay in Farnham — and her pieces here range from wheel thrown ceramics like mugs and utensil pots to hand-built, hand-coiled bowls and serving platters.
Annabel's stoneware ceramics draw directly on the Surrey landscape around her studio — loose, painterly leaf, vine and berry motifs in inky glazes, set against a calming palette of whites, blues and natural earth tones. Layered slips and glazes give each piece a textured, geological quality that's distinctive among the handmade ceramics we stock, gentle and striking at once. Every bowl, plate and mug is genuinely one-off or made in a tiny run, so no two pieces are ever quite identical.
The collection includes wheel thrown mugs for everyday tea and coffee, deep hand-built statement bowls generous enough for a fruit bowl or a shared feast, painterly plates, and wheel thrown utensil pots for the kitchen. Built for daily use as much as display, they make a genuinely unique wedding or housewarming gift for anyone who already has plenty of tableware but nothing quite like this.
