Made using hand-dyed sisal, these beautiful baskets are hand woven in South Western Kenya by a weaving cooperative of around forty members. Coming in three sizes, these versatile baskets work as well for bathroom or dressing table items as they do as a home to your favourite plant.

The Basket room is an ethical brand founded by Camilla and Holly, who met at fashion school back in 2014. They work with artisans and weaving co-operatives in East Africa to produce their gorgeous hand-made vessels which are perfect for storage or holding plants. The baskets are fairly traded and made with socio-economic impact at the fore.
When it comes to materials, they are meticulous, choosing raw organic plant fibres that are non-water and non-pesticide intensive. They use fibres local to where the baskets will be woven when possible, keeping emissions down and further boosting local economies. The natural range of baskets we have are either kept in their fibres hue or coloured using traditional plant dyeing techniques passed down through generations.

Our small all-female team work from our shop in Falmouth, Cornwall, wrapping up and posting out our special small-batch pieces to you worldwide everyday alongside selling delights to our lovely locals.

It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
We are experts at wrapping ceramics and other fragile items with care. We use completely plastic-free packaging, biodegradable packing chips and recyclable paper tape.
